Under the Lamp

What sets Namjai apart

We work on a small number of watches at any one time, so each piece receives real attention — not an assembly line.

Personalised attention

Every enquiry is answered by a watchmaker, not an assistant. We learn a little about the piece before it arrives so we can approach it thoughtfully.

Honest communication

You receive a plain written assessment before any paid work begins. If a repair is not worth its cost, we say so clearly — with no obligation.

Respect for originality

Nothing cosmetic is altered without your agreement. We preserve patina, dial character, and original parts wherever the watch allows.

Full documentation

Each service is recorded — parts replaced, timing results, and observations noted. You leave knowing exactly what was done and why.

No hurried work

We take the time the watch needs. Timelines are shared upfront and held to. A mechanical movement is not a task to rush.

Bangkok-based workshop

Common Questions

Things people often ask

How do I get started?

You can use the contact form below or call us directly. A short description of the watch and a photograph — even from your phone — is enough for us to give you an initial sense of the service it likely needs and the approximate timeframe.

What types of watches do you work on?

We focus on mechanical and automatic movements — vintage, antique, and modern. We do not currently work on quartz-only movements or digital timepieces. If you are unsure, a quick message with a photograph is the simplest way to find out.

Do you assess the watch before charging?

Yes. The Gentle Service & Check begins with an assessment. For any deeper work, we share a written overview of what we find and the service we recommend before any paid work proceeds. You are free to take the watch back at that stage with no charge for the assessment.

How are the prices structured?

Our service prices are listed on the site in Thai Baht and cover the complete service as described. If parts are needed that fall outside the standard service — a crown, a crystal, a specific component — we discuss that separately with you before sourcing anything. There are no hidden additions.

Can I send my watch by courier?

Yes. We have customers who send their watches from other provinces and from abroad. We can advise on appropriate packaging and, if you prefer, arrange a return courier on completion. Please get in touch first so we can coordinate the details safely.

Is my personal information kept private?

Absolutely. Any information you share with us — contact details, photographs, or details about your watch — is used only to assist with your service. We do not pass it to third parties. You can read our full privacy approach in the Privacy Policy.
